Ambassador Appreciation Day

But even more than this, we came together to meet, eat, and play.

We were given this opportunity to get together through the very thoughtful and complimentary use of the conference room and gym from the City of Woodland’s Community and Senior Center Manager, Dallas Tringali, and Recreation Supervisor, Marshall Echols. We video chatted with CJ Jermstad, USAPA Vice President & Director of Ambassadors, sharing the latest updates on April’s National Pickleball Month and what’s happening with national and regional tournaments. She also suggested topics like how important it is to greet every player (and potential player) as they walk onto the courts. This first welcome can change a new player’s view of pickleball and of our community. We also video chatted with our West Region

Director, Steve Sidwell, from Paso Robles, CA, gave us history, statistics, local and regional direction, and tremendous support for what our team has done so far. Steve provided the funds for our supplies and meals for the day. Thanks Steve! Meeting our leaders was the icing on this cake. Their warm and enthusiastic manner made us feel truly appreciated. After some ambassador networking, we had lunch, then gave each other a respectful, but serious, beating on the courts. All in all, a really fun day. We are a family of helpers who may have the answers you need. Just ask. This is what we learned on March 23rd. As the Sacramento Area District Ambassador, I support 20 Ambassadors. We all work hard to promote and grow our sport, so it was important to me to thank each and every single Ambassador for their efforts. This was why “Ambassador Appreciation Day” was created. At the end of the day, it was good friends, good food, and great pickleball. It was everything I hoped it would be.
