The Eugene Family YMCA made a bit of sporting history Saturday when it held the area’s first-ever pickleball tournament. “It’s more of a gentle sport on your body,” said George Cox, 67, a retired Eugene gym teacher who has played for five years and has become a local ambassador for the sport.
