Referees, Verified Trainees and Interested Volunteers

Special Olympics and USA Pickleball are partnering up for some great opportunities to learn new referee skills, sharpen current skills and help out in the community where you live.  Special Olympics Pickleball has local, regional and state events scheduled and are looking for support to referee matches.  Some have compensation.

There are many more volunteers than referees in most of the areas where these events are located.  This is an excellent opportunity for USA Pickleball to grow the organization by teaching these volunteers a little bit about what we do.  A trained Score Caller is better than an untrained volunteer.  If you are interested in training Special Olympics Volunteers please contact ttadler@usapickleball.org

If you are a referee, trainee or are just interested in helping, reach out to the organizers that are listed on Referee Notices.  USA Pickleball is allowing the advertisement of  Special Olympics Pickleball provided that all the contact information is available.  Anyone wanting to advertise on Referee notices may contact ttadler@usapickleball.org with the information including the primary contact or head referee. Please include if compensation, lodging or meals are included.

Credentialed Referees working at a Special Olympics event are representing USA Pickleball and are allowed to wear their uniforms.  No credentials.  Please remember that Special Olympics may require referees to fill out forms in advance so please don’t show up un announced.  USA Pickleball and Special Olympics North America (SONA) are working together to review and revise the SO rules for this year.  At this time please follow all USAP rules unless the TD gives you direction otherwise.
