Pickleball is more than a game. It’s the friends who meet at the same courts every week.
The family picking up paddles for the first time. The volunteer introducing the sport to a new community. The athlete working toward a place at Nationals.
Millions of people experience pickleball in different ways. And as the sport continues to grow, it needs a strong foundation to support all of them.
As the National Governing Body for pickleball in the United States, our role is to serve the sport, not one tournament, one type of player or one way to play. From maintaining the official rules and establishing equipment standards to educating players and officials, supporting communities and creating opportunities to compete, our work is focused on helping pickleball grow with integrity.
A Role Built on Trust
That responsibility starts with trust.
Our 2026 Brand Perception Study found that 94% of paid members trust USA Pickleball as a source of accurate pickleball information. Importantly, that trust extends beyond our membership: 80% of non-members surveyed also identify USA Pickleball as a trusted source of accurate information.
Those numbers are something we’re proud of, but we see them as more than a measure of our brand. They are also a reminder of our responsibility.
Trust isn’t something an organization can simply declare. It is earned through consistency, leadership, listening and a commitment to doing what is right for the long-term health of the game.
That’s what being Pickleball’s Trusted Authority means to us.
Serving the Whole Game
There isn’t one type of pickleball player and our work has to reflect that.
Our responsibility extends from the recreational player at a neighborhood court to the athlete competing for a national championship, while protecting the consistency and integrity of the game through trusted rules and standards. It means helping communities create more opportunities to play. It means expanding access to the sport and giving players, coaches, officials and organizers resources they can depend on.
Some of that work happens on pickleball’s biggest stages. Much of it happens behind the scenes. USA Pickleball’s official role today spans rules, equipment and facility certification, referee training, education, sanctioned competition and programs that expand access to the game.
But it all comes back to one purpose: We want pickleball to be stronger because USA Pickleball is here.
Stronger for today’s players. Stronger for the communities built around the game. And stronger for the people who haven’t discovered it yet.
That’s the why behind our work and the responsibility behind being Pickleball’s Trusted Authority.
Because trust isn’t simply a position we hold.
It’s something we have to keep earning.
