1st Annual Ambassadors’ Choice Tournament

In what will prove to be the beginning of many special events in the future, the inaugural Ambassadors Choice Tournament was held in the USAPA’s West Region. Held at Eastern Oak Park in Sacramento, 12 of the 15 current Sacramento Valley Ambassadors and their partners participated in this first-ever ambassadors-only competition.

Spearheaded by District Ambassador Katie Lawler, the tournament featured the USAPA round robin format and playing under a hot and glaring sun, competition was intense. The area’s newest Ambassador, Reine Steel from Carmichael and her playing partner, Jiren Tan went undefeated en route to capturing first place.

Off of the six courts, friendships were renewed and new ones cultivated with plans already underway for an indoor tournament. That event will be coordinated by Tracy Lind, Folsom Ambassador.
