Green Valley Recreation to Build Largest Pickleball Complex in Southern Arizona

Green Valley Recreation Inc (GVR) has announced plans to build a 24-court pickleball center in Green Valley AZ. Along with the existing 12 courts at GVR facilities, the addition of 24 more courts in Green Valley represents the largest concentration of pickleball courts in southern Arizona.
Groundbreaking ceremonies were held on July 16, 2019 and construction is currently underway with a planned completion date of Phase 1 by January 2020. The contractors for this project are Division II Construction Co., Inc. of Tucson and Renner Sports Surfaces of Denver.
When fully built-out, the GVR Pickleball Center will include 24 courts, an instructional court with tiered seating, a 1,650 sq. ft. building complete with restrooms, meeting space, kitchen, and a multi-use storage area. The parking lot will accommodate 114 spaces, 24-ft two-way access aisles, and 4 ADA-compliant parking spaces. Low-water-use trees will provide shade for each court.

Green Valley Recreation has authorized $1.25M for the project and provided a framework to raise additional funds to build and furnish additional courts beyond the initial project scope. The GVR Pickleball Club is conducting a fundraising campaign for those funds up until August 23.
