LakePoint USAPA St. Jude Tournament

After a highly successful inaugural event last year, the second annual USAPA St. Jude National Indoor Classic took place at LakePoint Champions Center in Cartersville, Georgia. The tournament warmly welcomed over 300 players from 19 states to participate in the event which benefited St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

During the inaugural tournament in 2017, the USAPA St. Jude National Indoor Classic raised $6,800 for the kids of St. Jude. This year, the Classic raised an incredible $10,000! By more than doubling the number of participants and moving the event date from a Monday-Wednesday format to a Friday-Sunday tournament, the event realized a 60% attendance increase. With a combination of singles play, women’s and men’s doubles play to go along with mixed doubles play, there was a game for everyone to play.

St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Treatments developed at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% when the hospital first opened in 1962 to over 80% today. No family will ever receive a bill from St. Jude, for treatment, travel, housing or food because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Everyone involved with the tournament is so grateful for the incredible success of the second annual USAPA St. Jude National Indoor Classic and everyone is looking forward to a bigger and better event next year!
