New pickleball courts set to open in Keene today

Six new pickleball courts are set to open today behind the Jonathan Daniels School in Keene.

Converted from two tennis courts, the pickleball courts were funded by a $15,900 donation from the Keene Lions Club and will be maintained by the city’s parks, recreation and facilities department.

Ron Farina, membership chairman of the Keene Lions Club, spearheaded the project.

“It’s community, it’s camaraderie, it’s exercise,” Farina said of the sport. “It’s just fun to play.” Read More…
