Tualatin’s Community Park hosts first-ever Pickleball Fall Shootout

Wes Gabrielsen of McMinnville and Chris Goettling of Sequim, Wash. teamed up to win the top division of the Pickleball Fall Shootout, held Oct. 11 at Community Park in Tualatin. Tony Tollenaar of Tualatin and Tim Gardner of McMinnville were the division’s second-place winners. “There’s a stereotype that it’s a sport for retired people but there’s a large contingency of young, very competitive players,” said Tollenaar. “I’ve played competitive racquet sports my whole life and it transitions easily to the pickleball court.
