Pickleball anyone? Seniors, in Longmeadow, enjoy popular racket sport

A couple of mornings a week this summer, as part of Longmeadow Adult Center activities, Fassett and as many as 10 other people get outdoors, and play the sport that is described as having features of tennis, ping pong and badminton. Kathleen Grady, activities coordinator at the center at 231 Maple Road, said pickleball has been offered there since 2012. “We have a lot of people who go to Florida for the winter and they came back raving about pickleball, so we went with public demand,” Grady said. “It’s a new physical activity.
